We have been delivering professional roofing services throughout Devon and the South West since 1975. As a long-established family-run business, we have earned a reputation for quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and reliable roofing solutions. Founded by Mr A Clegg, the company has grown through a commitment to high standards and a dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our clients. Today, we continue that tradition by offering environmentally conscious roofing solutions that combine sustainability with long-lasting performance.
Following the retirement of our founder, the business was entrusted to his son, Matthew, who has been involved with the company for more than 25 years. Having worked extensively on roofing renewals, repairs, and specialist projects before moving into management, Matthew possesses the practical knowledge and industry expertise needed to lead the business into the future. Under his guidance, Clegg & Shortman continues to embrace innovative and eco-friendly roofing technologies while maintaining the values that have defined the company for decades.
As awareness of environmental responsibility continues to grow, more property owners are seeking roofing solutions that reduce waste, improve energy efficiency, and support sustainability goals. We offer a range of green and eco roofing options designed to enhance thermal performance, extend roof lifespans, and minimise environmental impact. Whether for residential, commercial, or public-sector buildings, our solutions are tailored to deliver both environmental and financial benefits.
Our experienced team of roofing professionals, contract managers, and support staff enables us to deliver projects efficiently and to the highest standards. We are approved installers for leading manufacturers and work with a broad range of clients, including homeowners, local authorities, housing associations, educational establishments, defence organisations, and major contractors. Every project benefits from our extensive experience, attention to detail, and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
We are proud to hold industry-recognised accreditations and maintain the highest levels of professionalism across all aspects of our work. Our reputation has been built over generations by consistently delivering dependable roofing services, competitive pricing, and honest advice backed by decades of practical experience.
